Shrewsbury School

Using our unique ‘Digitiser®’ system, we rapidly digitised and converted the following collections into PDF files with OCR:

‘The Salopian’ school magazine
‘Hunt Books’ archive
‘Student Records’ archive

The ‘Digitiser®’ solution also allowed us to create a digital and transcribed PDF of the ‘School Library Index’ archive.

Hills & Saunders

The Hills & Saunders archive contains over 90,000 dry plate glass negatives.
Our unique ‘Digitiser®’ system has allowed us to digitally preserve this rare and delicate archive by safely capturing digital images of each plate in a fraction of the time traditional methods of digitising glass plate negatives would require.

Archive Digital used the ‘Digitiser®’ solution to digitise and convert to searchable PDF the entire contemporary metadata sources archive, comprising the original ledgers, hand-written notes and index cards.

We completed the project by linking the metadata sources to each digital image captured from the glass plate archive.

West Bromwich Albion F.C

The Club had a comprehensive hard copy collection of board meeting minute books, dating from the 19th century to the 1980s, and ‘Albion News’ matchday programmes from 1905 onwards, which needed to be digitised both from a security perspective as well as putting fragile documents into a format that could be regularly accessed for content generation. We produced searchable OCR’d PDF files for the purpose.

Using our ‘Digitiser®’ solution, we were able to complete this project quickly and efficiently.

H Entertainment Group

The archive comprises over 700 lever arch folders that contain valuable original music rights agreements dating back to the late 1940’s.

The resource is in constant use and so the development of a digital version (OCR PDF) of the archive that can be searched and data retrieved in an instantly in electronic format has been of great value to the company.

The digitisation project as meant that the original records and documents can now be placed into deep storage.

Brocket Hall, Hertfordshire

Archive Digital accepted delivery of 240,000 items of records that dated back to the 1960’s. This formed the Brocket Hall document records archive.

We proceeded to clean and inspect each document, removing staples, pins and other inclusions before duplex scanning. This created a digital (jpeg) file that was converted to PDF format and applied with an OCR filter which allowed for each document to be search and retrieved using keywords and phrases contained within the text of the document.

We also digitised numerous irregular size maps, drawings and plans.

The digital records have been uploaded to a secure cloud service and the original records deposited in a long-term secure storage facility.
